I read an article- no idea where, so no cite but I’ll try to find it later- that talked about how Melania sought out unflattering or mean articles to bring them to his attention. This was presented as a sign of her love for him, so that he could address these issues in the press.
That is not how i took it.
She gives the impression of being obsequiously obedient rather than intelligent. She likely noticed Trump’s minion gathering negative articles to bring to his attention and noticed that he rewarded their efforts in helping compile his list of enemies, so she wanted to curry similar favour from the Great Orange Menace.
Just shows how good she is at it.
I believe that at this point what they have is more of a negotiated agreement than a marriage. I believe she wants out, I believe the rumors that she has a serious boyfriend. I think they’ve struck some sort of arrangement that if she sticks it out for the duration of the Presidency he’ll pay her off and let her leave and not look too hard at what she does when she’s alone in NYC.
I do remember reading a news story back in the spring about how she was his biggest fan, working tirelessly monitoring the media from her home in Trump Tower but I think it was just one of those angles that Team Trump workshopped then rejected as unbelievable. And that says a lot.

I don’t think that most of the time, you can really tell what effects a president has had on the economy except in hindsight, and even then, it’s a bit controversial what those effects were.
Some of the time, a president’s actions do have a very noticeable and immediate effect, unfortunately, that is usually for the worse. If GDP goes up another 5% under 4 years of donnie, the most that can really be said there is that he didn’t do anything to fuck anything up, for which we can be grateful. If the economy drops a bit 5% or so, that can be chalked up to business cycles, and isn’t really his fault. If the GDP crashes and goes down 50%, that can probably be laid directly at his feet.
This isn’t an actual photograph, surely! I figure someone took a picture of a guy in a recliner and photoshopped Trump’s face on it. I’m not at my computer and can’t research at the moment. A friend of mine just called and said he was sure it was a real photograph of Trump in those circumstances. I say it’s the equivalent of a political cartoon, right?
There are artists that can draw a remarkably photograph-quality picture.

“Working tirelessly monitoring the media” sounds so much classier than “mindlessly watching TV”.
