It isn’t just Clothahump and Trump who are so stunted and twisted. It’s also Paul Ryan and many of the current crop of right-wingers.
However much we despised their policies, Goldwater, Reagan, and even GWB probably thought their policies were best for the U.S. But many of today’s Republicans do seem to base their policies on a childish desire to torment liberals. Look at the anti-bicycle and anti-university provisions in their proposed “tax reform.” They don’t need the extra money just to further enrich billionaires; they just want to fling poo at those who vote (D).
Probably not. Trump and Ryan are both almost teetotalers, no? I’ve not seen a good study of nature vs nurture, but these apes may just be suffering from a birth defect.
And even that “birth defect” might have had survival value in savage times when clubbing rapists and snakes quickly was more important than having an IQ.
