I saw that on air when it happened. I thought at first that the video feed had frozen. Didn’t notice the clock was still running.
I thought Mark Kelly’s twitter response was awesome.
Also from Kelly on twitter, in response to Trump’s tweet about how he had been so strict on the airlines in 2017 that there were no airline deaths for the year:
I think Kelly really should install a button on Trump’s desk. Big and red, with a sign that says “LAUNCH N KOREA NUKES. DON’T PRESS UNLESS YOU REALLY MEAN IT.”
But all it would do if pressed is flash a light in Kelly’s office, letting him know that it’s time to get a net and a tranquilizer gun, and invoke the 25th Amendment.
Gallows humor, but that’s one of the funniest things I’ve read in months. Ya got me laughing over here!

I thought his “first try” was in 2000.
Presumably he is talking about getting elected the first time after running, unlike Hillary who ran also in 2008, 2016 and still didn’t win. Of course this claim has as much truth as any of his other claims.
Nixon comes to mind. Failed in 1960, succeeded in 1968.
