Trump hates real billionaires, because he knows that real billionaires know he’s a fraud. Trump is not a real billionaire; he’s just expert at using his debt to leverage his creditors into keeping his little scam empire afloat. Smart creditors cut him off years ago, which is why he ran to Russian oligarchs as a last resort. They lent him money because while it’s doubtful that Putin and his oligarchy saw any real chance to turn a real profit on Trump’s businesses, they probably did see an opportunity to disrupt American politics. Whether they actually thought he had a chance to become president - and I don’t think they ever did in their wildest dreams - isn’t necessarily the point. They knew Trump could be a politically disruptive force.
Jesus God that man is dumb. He should create an executive order demanding that the USPS charge more. Fedex, UPS and the rest of them would love it.
Thanks! That’s an interesting article. I see that it’s a complicated issue, perhaps too complicated to fully address in a Tweet.
Amazon doesn’t pay taxes? As per trump himself, doesn’t that make them smart?
R’s are for the free market unless it’s a company they don’t like. Then regulations make tons of sense!
Trump went off on Amazon this morning, calling them a “no tax monopoly” and a drain on the Postal Service. PolitiFact rated his claims Pants on Fire
Trump tweets pics of repairs to an old section of local border wall and claims that it shows the start of construction on his “big beautiful wall”.
Gotta wonder is someone in his admin is pointing him to that stuff just to appease him.
Ha! That’s Obama’s big beautiful wall from 2009.
If thump’s people show him that picture and tell him the wall construction is starting, he won’t know any better, and he sure won’t question it.
I’d be kinda okay with that – we can take care of that during the next election. Problem is an awful lot of of his supporters won’t question it either.
So then Trump will be tearing it down?
Doonesburyfrom 41 years ago - very similar situation.
Yes! By the way, where the fuck ARE Trump’s tax returns???
The issue is apparently dead.
In other words, he lied when he said he’d release them in the future. Since people (apparently) accepted that, he decided he didn’t have to do it ever. Kind of like the big wall that Mexico was going to pay for. Although they are not, he still thinks he gets a wall.
Beautiful! :smack:
What percentage of Amazon’s deliveries are made using the USPS? No cite, but I’m guessing the percentage is dropping:
-
By and large, Prime shipments are made through UPS, with FedEx and DHL used when UPS can’t make the shipping deadline. Prime seems to be getting more and more popular, so percentage-wise fewer packages are being shipped by the USPS.
-
Amazon is busy developing its own package delivery system. I don’t think it’s shipping a large amount yet, but it looks like their intent is to grow the system pretty rapidly.
So when the vast majority of Amazon’s shipping is not through the Postal Service, how big a hit will the USPS take in its financials? Will Spanky Bonespurs tweet about how unAmerican Amazon is because it’s no longer shipping through the USPS?
I posted a link in the Clusterfuck thread yesterday that no one seemed interested in, about a judicial ruling that allows litigation to proceed against Trump on the emoluments issue. But it’s a big deal. By allowing the litigation to proceed, the plaintiffs can commence discovery – and are very likely to issue a subpoena duces tecum for Trump’s tax returns. We may see them sooner rather than later. (But not with Trump’s blessing.)
I don’t think people are indifferent to it; just snowed under with horrifying developments from all over the Administration.
Anyway, here’s a bit from a page of a firm involved in the proceedings–the page contains links as described here:

Sure can’t argue with that. :o
Point is, Trump’s tax returns may not remain secret for much longer.
But as long as I’m mentioning important links…
I posted another link yesterday in the Mueller investigation thread that’s also a big deal. It’s the first time Mueller’s investigation reveals their knowledge of a contemporaneous tie between the Trump campaign team and the Russian government – and the campaign individual, Rick Gates, knew he was dealing with a Russian military official. The information was referenced by Mueller’s team in a sentencing recommendation report for attorney Alex van der Zwaan, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI a couple of months ago.
Worth a read.
