Why doesn’t she just give the guarantee? I mean, it’s probably a lie, but maybe the tape won’t come out and prove her wrong. If it does, then they’ve already established themselves as a bunch of shameless liars even beforehand, it’s not like there’s any credibility left to lose. All this does is tacitly admit that such a tape exists.
