I’m not convinced that the staff bother to consult with Trump about the words they’re putting in his mouth.
Nor am I convinced that he would remember whether he had posted any given thing - I suspect he would just believe he’d said it, and defend it accordingly. (Which might include saying the exact opposite, particularly if yet another senior moment occurs.)
This is as bad as when Justin Bieber dedicated a song to the fan who was stalking or annoying him (can’t recall which.) Absolutely feeding the behavior.
Now Trump has gotten an immense dose of gratification.
I don’t know about Bieber’s fan, but I do know that Donald loves flattery better than almost anything in this world. Greta, while on the spectrum, has a very good IQ----and she may have used it to disarm some of the Despicable One’s opposition to anything that could ameliorate climate change.
Or not; I don’t pretend to know what her motives were. But I think it’s possible.
Yeah, ignoring them is bullshit. It just leaves them free to be even bigger assholes and the pressure’s on the victim to shut up and pretend. It only works for people who don’t want to hear the victims complain.
Did he mean the illustrated version of the movie adaption of E.T.**, or the magazine ET (Entertainment Tonight - I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that at the supermarket checkout)?
Yeah, I know we all make typos, but we all are not the fucking President of the United States. PotUS shouldn’t be tweeting this shit at all, but that ship has sailed. At least pretend to assure the public that you check your work before flying off at the thumb.
Speaking of il Doofus’ bursts of explosive Twitterrhea:
Uh, yeah; good luck with that. You can pray all you like to Satan and Mammon and Cthulhu and whatever other gods good Republicans worship, but even their miracles can only go so far…
There’s no way he stays quiet, and that’s a real danger if this ever ends up going to the Senate for a trial. It’s well-documented that there is less support among Republicans in the senate. Some Republicans, like Romney, don’t have to worry about re-election anytime soon. And others, like Collins, do have to worry about carrying a state that could easily go Blue. They will be watching the polls. People have a tendency to live in the present. If he says the wrong thing at the wrong time, that could put some senators under the spotlight.
Trump referring to anyone as a “nonbeliever” is hilarious example of projection. And I wonder which one he’s referring to? I guess it could be all of them – everybody knows that Democrats are all godless atheist communists, like Jimmy Carter. Unless they’re godless atheist Jewish communists, like Bernie Sanders.
Christianity Today is not a left wing publication. It may be many, many things - but not left wing.
It’s also telling that he doesn’t seem to understand that other people (or organizations) might have core beliefs or principles other than, well, quid pro quo. In his head, he “helped” someone, so now they owe him. He can’t wrap his head that they might be guided in some other way.
(Also, and I don’t believe I’m giving this much attention to this tweet - the majority of the current D candidates are believers in something, a large minority have had active roles in their faith communities, and none of them want to take anyone’s religion away.)
Since it’s not a real danger to Napoleon Boneyspurs himself (between the shrieking mobs of deplorables and the Kremlin’s kompromat files, few if any GOP senators dare turn on him), he isn’t going to be dissuaded. The aforementioned GOP senators will just have to try to weather the storm as best they can (I’m rooting for the reefs and shoals).
