Even worse are the leading Republicans fighting to save/kiss his ass.
Chaffetz, who said he had two years worth of investigations of Clinton ready to go but says it would be an awful thing to investigate a fellow Republican for conspiring with the Russians.
This. Some of us knew what kind of a man (I use the term loosely) Trump was. But the members of Congress who are sitting back in silence and letting him blather on, insult other countries, bait other nuclear powers.
And the biggest culprit of them all is that lying, gutless, disgusting piece of scum, Mitch McConnell, who has had NO comment on Donald’s behavior at all. There isn’t a ring of hell deep enough for that man (again using the term loosely).
I hold them equally responsible, and that’s where I’m bringing most of my pressure to bear. Letters/calls/emails to Republicans who need to heed their constituencies and do their jobs. I’m on 'em as often as I can be – and that’s a lot.
I must say that in one respect I find his twitter feed light years better than it was last year. Last year if you clicked a tweet to view replies mostly you’d see pics and memes that weren’t even on topic (IOW it mostly read like spam). Now for pretty much any tweet on top you’ll see at minimum a few strings of quality refutations.
It has been a while since he retweeted any memes from white supremacists. I guess now that Bannon is right there in the White House, Trump no longer needs to light up the Batshit Signal on Twitter.
45 just cannot believe that all American citizens aren’t Republicans:
Yes, Donald, some of those Republicans also have liberals within their districts. Yes, Donald, some of those liberals are angry, and yes, activism is legal and American. Yes, you TWIT, there are a lot of angry liberal activists, even in Republican districts, so it’s fair to call them “crowds.” Nothing so-called about it.
In some decades like the 80s, when as a teenager I attended anti-nuke rallies, I’ve been skeptical about such gatherings having any effect. But this Trump guy makes this a no-brainer! We’re having a clear, direct, instantaneous effect on the President himself! This is awesome. Let’s keep these crowds going. We don’t have to devote every day of our lives to this – it obviously doesn’t take much to rattle the Orange Moron. But let’s keep this going.
In counter-point to Mr. Trump’s verbose twitter account, in which he endeavours to blame everyone else; here’s an (allegedly) in-house twitter account blaming the White House.
I cannot vouch for the authenticity but it is worth a look
“‘I will not be attending the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner this year,’ the President tweeted. ‘Please wish everyone well and have a great evening!’”
