Variety thinks she has but it may be too subtle for Trump.
Who wrote You’re So Vain?
She made that decision quite a while ago. In case you missed it for some time she was regarded as an “Aryan goddess” by the alt right, and massively pissed them off when she endorsed Democrats and left wing causes.
Are you talking about Couy Griffin or Donald Trump?
His comment after the Charlottesville “unite the right” rally about there being “good people on both sides” now makes a lot more sense – he just forgot to add “relative to me” after it.
While the angry mob demonstrated outside the White House, Cadet Dotus cowered in his bunker sending nasty little tweets while ignoring his staff’s pleas to address the nation. Does anyone else think that this seems eerily like a Nero and Rome scenario?
It also seems horrifyingly clear that he wants to see bloodshed on the streets, courtesy of the military.
Courtesy of the miitary he only sees through the cartoon lens of his cartoon mind.
The concept still exists and thank you, I was looking for that expression recently and it elluded me.
Well, now that it got out that President piss-in-pants was cowering in his bunker, he had to prove everyone wrong.
And he did this by manfully ordering his Praetorian guard to shoot rubber bullets and tear gas into a peaceful crowd so that he could stride forth safe from signs with mean words, to wave a borrowed bible about his head for 10 seconds in front of a church he has never been to, whose Bishop did not want him near.
Then he manfully strode back to the White House bunker where he cried himself to sleep again.
p.s. Have you seen the comments from the trumpeters on Bishop Budde’s tweet about the twerp’s latest stunt? Wow. Those idiots are calling her a satanist, while they’re supporting the nearest thing this planet has to Satan.
Well, I like that bishop: the presence of priests like her are the main reason I’d be perfectly happy to include Episcopalian parishes in my list of “places I go to Mass” if I were living in the US… from the point of view of people who think anybody not of their tiny church is Not A Christian, endorsement by a Catholic is merely proof of Budde’s collusion with the Devil.
So the nationwide protests and riots all began with police brutality that resulted in George Floyd being killed; since then police have attacked peaceful protesters and rioters alike with tear gas, rubber bullets and driving SUVs through crowds; they’ve openly attacked members of the press. And what does Trump tweet today?
I agree - Trump is not playing multidimensional chess. The truth is, most authoritarians aren’t either. They’re always playing trial and error. Many of their regimes are hopelessly incompetent. But they’re good at psychological manipulation.
Alcoholics and drug addicts aren’t chess players either, but many of them are damn good liars and manipulators.
Reading his glurge and that of his obsequious sycophants always makes me feel the need for a hot shower and to burn the clothes I was wearing.
If the people are protesting police violence, then that just means you are not using enough of it.
The problem is, is that we are playing chess. In that, we are playing a game that has rules, and we are abiding by those rules.
The best chess player in the world cannot win against even the worst player if they are allowed to make up the rules as they go along.
“Article 2 says my horsey can do whatever it wants.”
I’m reminded of a fake advertisement that appeared in the old National Lampoon* that showed an image of “Board after move #32: Knee to corner of chessboard.”
*It was their infamous January 1973 Death issue. The ad was for the book “Bobby Fisher Teaches you how to Beat Death at Chess”, i which the chess Grandmaster takes on (judging from the picture) Death from Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal
You’re too generous. The best chess player in the world cannot win against even the worst player who backs up to the board, drops trou, and takes a big, steaming dump on the board.
News reports I’ve been reading, or at least the ones that are not bylined “FOX News”, indicate that acts of violence have tapered off considerably over the past 48 hours, so I’m a bit unclear who the cops are supposed to get tough with. President Dick Tater seems to be a day late and a dollar short, as usual.
It won’t stop him from taking credit for ending the violence with his “I’ll just make the army shoot 'em all” bullshit and that stunt he pulled outside the church. The one that used violence to move peaceful protesters out of the way for his photo op.
Has the cheeto-faced shitgibbon taken credit for the successful Space-X launch yet?
