Since he’s not using the official @Potus account, do the records maintaining laws and rules not apply? Or, like all our other norms, do they just go out the window now?
I give people, including him, a lot of slack for twitter typos. My autocorrect is weird and fast. However, a sitting pres shouldn’t be demanding investigations like that. Words have weight… but again, norms out the window.
Well, that’s about enough acting “presidential” for one week.
Donald’s claiming that Obama, a very bad (or sick!) man, tapped his phones at Trump Tower last October. All the tweets are aggregated at that Independant link above.
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

Is it legal for a sitting President to be "wire tapping" a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!

I’d bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!

How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!

The Independent knows what to think about our President, sadly:
[quote=Independent article linked above]
However, despite the severity of the claim, Mr Trump did not immediately provide evidence that Mr Obama was responsible for surveillance on his property.
The President has a long history of making unfounded and sometimes bizarre claims and it is not the first time he has used them to attack his predecessor.

I am so ashamed that we elected Donald Trump.
They say being POTUS is the hardest job in the world but obviously that’s not true. The orange jackass in chief seems to have plenty of time to watch TV and troll social media, when he’s not playing golf in Florida.
Seems like a classic Trump diversionary tactic, except that it brings the story back to Russia.
The Rogue POTUS Staff twitter account pointed out that IF there was indeed a classified FISA wiretap on Trump Tower, POTUS may have just declassified that information by tweeting about it - and making it subject to FOIA requests.
I’ve just gotten to the point that whenever I hear Trump criticizing his opponents about some imagined offense, it’s something he or his administration are doing themselves. I’m exaggerating, of course, but it would fail to shock me if at some point it came out that it was Trump and his team tapping phones.
