Besides April, when all of us who pay taxes on an annual basis cough up (if we’re not owed refunds), the other months that show a lot of surpluses are June, September, and January, when payments are made by those who make estimated payments on a quarterly basis, and for some reason December.
So the January surplus is due to Trump’s remarkable ability to fail to scare quarterly filers into hiding their money under their mattresses rather than making their usual quarterly payments. Astounding!
