As classless as it sounds, I would put Herman Cain’s death in an attack ad. I wouldn’t have Biden’s fingerprints on it - maybe some dark money affiliated group that supports Democratic causes could put some muscle behind it though. But the ties need to be explicit: Donald Trump killed Herman Cain. Out of vanity. The same way he’s killing thousands of other Americans.
Lincoln Project seems ruthless enough to make such an ad, and it doesn’t support any Democratic causes other than getting Trump out of the White House.
It would be tasteless and counterproductive to exploit Cain’s death. Like 150,000 other American families, his is mourning the loss of a loved one. People know he went to the Tulsa rally and that it’s quite possible he got sick there. I’d rather the message be “Don’t let this happen to you, wear a mask”.
Yeah I think the Lincoln project could pull it off. Given that they identify themselves as Republicans trying to save their party from Trumpism, pointing out that Trump’s actions have actively killed off Republican activists fits right in their wheel house. As far as it being in bad taste, as far as I can tell given the ads from this group and those coming out of the Trump campaign, there is no bottom.
I think this follows the leopard eating face model. When they voted to defund the post office they didn’t realize that their home town post office would be shut down. The ironic thing about this whole business is that it is the rural Republican districts that would be hit hardest if the post office did shut down. FedEx, Amazon and UPS, would easily cover mail delivery to all of the major metro areas, but for the those in the boondocks where delivering mail is not cost effective, they will be SOL.
I saw a posting on YouTube just yesterday that slammed Susan Collins pretty hard for sticking her lips to Trump’s ass too firmly, and another day some days ago, “Don’t Forget Their Names” denouncing a whole slew of Senators as “Trump enablers” recommending throwing them out of office when the time comes.
I wouldn’t say they’re supporting Democrats, per se, but the project seems intent on erasing the whole Trump legacy.
