Yes, that was one of the episodes. Apparently, there were reports from numerous sources that Nixon was absolutely losing his fucking mind, popping pills and drinking whiskey like they were about to bring back prohibition again. It was around the time he was spotted wandering around the White House and having conversations with portraits. IIRC, Nixon had bragged to someone that he could start a nuclear war and kill millions of people within 25 minutes.
He really went off the deep end at least five days ago.

“It’s so ridiculous, but they’re talking about no fossil fuels, which means basically no energy, and have to close down half of the businesses of the country. If you have to rebuild cities because too much light gets through the windows, so let’s make the windows nice and small, let’s rip down the Empire State Building and replace it with no windows,” he said.
He also said the party’s “Green New Deal” calls for “no cows,” before making his claim that all Democrats want to abolish all animals.
By “save the post office”, if I may, Trump is attempting to blame Democrats for the postal fuckery he installed. It’s just his latest mob boss wannabe extortion. See, he’s promised to fund the postal service as long as Democrats sign on to the Republican covid relief package. So it’s obvious, then, to Trump fucking morons, that the Democrats are holding up the postal service funds that Trump is holding up. That his fucking morons buy this shit makes me ashamed to have anything (American) in common with them. Good lord they are some stupid motherfuckers.
Trump is really playing with fire on this USPS deal.
The Hacks on Tap podcast played a clip from David Axelrod‘s other podcast in which he interviewed Nancy Pelosi. She said she has gotten pressure to put this or that or the other thing in the post office bill but she is insisting it stay absolutely pure vanilla, just post office funding and nothing else Republicans can use as an excuse to vote against it. My previous impulse had actually been that Pelosi should drive a hard bargain and not let them have clean bills without having to accept any Democratic pork. But I can really see the wisdom on this, because it is so important to our republic to make sure the post office is going to be able to handle an election with no issues (and fortunately the head of the postal union seems to hate Trump, so we don’t have to worry too much about the rank-and-file getting up to shenanigans).
But Mike Murphy went further. He said GOP senators are freaking out about this, because so many of them represents rural voters who depend on the mail for their prescriptions and things like that. He said there’s no way the Senate will refuse to pass a clean bill that comes out of the House.
So then it comes down to whether Trump will sign it. Trump has acted like he wants to use this issue as leverage, only signing it if he gets some other stuff he wants in return (the idea that running the post office smoothly would be a favor to Democrats is of course crazy in and of itself, but hey).
So if Trump signs it, all to the good. But if he vetoes it, we could really have a landslide on our hands (fueled in part by some seriously pissed off people standing in long lines to vote in person, like we saw happen in Wisconsin). At least that’s what Mike Murphy thinks.
If Trump senses how the wind is blowing on this issue, he’ll invite the media into the Oval Office, make a big show of signing the bill, and claim it was his idea all along.
