Butt-Hurt Trump Takes to Twitter Again (Part 1)

Mark Kornblau, an exec with NBC News, tweeted: "Never imagined a day when I would think to myself, ‘it is beneath my dignity to respond to the President of the United States.’ "

Yet here we are. Thanks 'Merica.

It’s an embarrassment to the US. Who could’ve imagined a US president tweeting garbage like this? At this point, President Camacho would be an improvement.

“There is a level of viciousness that I was not expecting. …some of the ferocity – I was a little blindsided by on a personal level.” – Ivanka Trump 6/11/17

If I had a 10-year-old who said that, I’d wash his mouth out with soap.

I scold my six-year-old for less.

And take away their phone and twitter util they learn some manners.

Have you ever actually *met *your father, Ma’m?

This is must more evidence that his mental deterioration is continuing. Will it stop, or will something have to be done?

Is he trying to get taken out with the 25th Amendment?

I sure hope that members of GOP issue messages of stern disappointment before doing nothing.

For the what feels like millionth time I think “Could you imagine the shitfest meltdown that would have happened if Obama had said something like that”

Things like this really shouldn’t a partisan issue. It’s an embarrassment to your country.

Well sure, it’s an embarrassment. But we’re willing to suck it up if the mother fucker will rubber stamp some tax cuts for the wealthy and put some god-fearing conservatives on the Supreme Court. At least I think that’s the prevailing mood among the deplorables.

Not to worry, quoth Sarah Huckabee Sanders:

No, this is a man-child who responds to a slap with a wooden spoon by hitting back with a sledgehammer followed by brass knuckles.

At some point, Trump won’t be president anymore (by one method or another). Is there any return to normalcy after this, or is this something I should now expect from the government for the rest of my life?

I’ve been wondering that for a while now. I don’t think he ever wanted to be president, he said every stupid thing that he could before the election. After the election, the post office/hotel conflict of interest alone should have been enough to remove him, but no-one will let him escape. He must be in a living nightmare.

Things could well be permanently fucked now. The next Presidential candidate to make tax returns public is going to seem like a superhero.

Unlikely: too humiliating, especially after loudly and gratuitously insisting he’s our healthiest president ever.

I think he will just become less and less engaged with all the aspects of the presidency that have anything to do with governing, but will punish any attempt by his unqualified appointees to act on their own or to seek guidance elsewhere. Judicial appointments will be, basically, privatized. Whatever a Republican-controlled congress can manage to pass will get signed in ever-more elaborate ceremonies. A plot involving antipsychotic drugs imbedded in purple sealing wax will fail.

I think the damage is permanent; he still has very high approval ratings within the GOP. We don’t recover from Trump.

The rest of your life. Trump’s enablers and supporters will still be around long after Trump’s in the dustbin of history, even if you manage to reverse the damage he’s doing to your government. You now live in a country where overt bigotry is a fact of life and where facts are irrelevant.

Lest this sound like hyperbole, I’d like to point out that we still haven’t gotten over Vietnam + Watergate, 40 years on. Before the '70s, it would be unthinkable to consider that the government could obfuscate its goals, methods, and progress in something as large as a war; or that individuals in the highest levels of government would subvert the law and constitution for their own political gain.

Now, those ideas are baked into our national psyche.

Next to go will be the inherent dignity of the Office of the President.

It’s all up to the next office-holder (and may he come sooner rather than later). He could lead us into a Restoration, or he could continue the slide into banana republic status.

That gal’s a chip off the old block, ain’t she?

A colleague of mine had this as his email signature: “When you’re tempted to fight fire with fire, remember that the fire department usually uses water.”
