Butt Ugly Vehicles

The Hyundai Veloster’s rear end. Bizarre.

I was reading some where that cars with rounded front and slopped back are safer than cars with straight front or boxing frame.

Not sure if that is true or not but boxing frame and straight front or back died long ago. The look is rounded front and slopped back these days.

Some spots cars and high in cars are longer at the front but they are really longer rounded look giving you a illusion it is bigger.

Where the sitting space is the same but the frame is bigger.

Buy Volvos. They’re Boxy, But They’re Good.

Today was Mopar Ugly day. I saw a 1984 Dodge 600 sedan, and a 1966 Dodge Monaco station wagon.

Today I saw the Mitsubishi i-MiEV on the road, a purple one. Ugly.

YMMV. (Geddit? Geddit?) I think the long hood/rounded back is a lovely design - makes the car look streamlined and fast. For my money, just about the prettiest car on the road is the 2015 Mazda 3 sedan. I drive a 2012 Mazda 3, and I’m very happy with it; but my next car will be the '15 or '16, which always sets me drooling.

I second the nomination of any of the recent Chevy Monte Carlos. They’re just too long in the back. The front ends are uninspiring but unobjectionable; the back ends look like some designer grabbed the clay dummy and pulled on the rear. Did Chevrolet hire Sir Mixalot to design them? Why does a car need a bustle?

I’ve said before that the BMW X6 is butt ugly. Today I saw its little brother.

BMW X6: ugly
BMW X4: ugly, junior

They took ugly and cloned it a little smaller. Still ugly.

Late 90’s Chrysler Concorde, or as I called it, the Catfish Car.

There’s seems to be a bit of the '58 Packard Hawk in there.

I still say the Juke designers got inspiration here-

A 2003 Pontiac Aztek Rally, in black.

Looks only a mother could love.

Not to make you jealous or anything, but this one is mine.

I’m thinking a lot about stepping up to the Mazda6 in the next couple of years.

I thought this thread could take a brief break from ugly for moment.

The Pontiac Aztek has been mentioned several times already, and I’ll add my vote to the chorus. It seems we’re in good company:

Behold, the far less attractive siblings:
