I read it as meaning a general pain in the ass, nothing more specific than that.
This just in… George Takei used the word so it can’t be an anti-gay slur!

I saw the term used frequently in WoW chat windows and forums. Mainly, somebody didn’t get the drop (treasure item) they wanted from a raid and got all butthurt: that is, they threw a fit in guild chat or complained publicly.
