Dude, don’t be lame.
Hmmm. Turns out I haven’t measured myself in a while. I’ve lost a couple of inches around my chest, which means I should be in a smaller band size. But the boobs have lost no mass, it would appear. This puts me in the awkward position of now being a DDD or more, which means my bras will be even more difficult to locate. sigh And while I’m sure there’ll be more than one offer of support from the peanut gallery, I’d rather have an affordable, well fitting, comfortable bra.
I just took the survey. After pregnancy and nursing, I’m a 40H.
Funny, the one they describe as “sexy” I’m wearing right now. They didn’t have sexy as a choice in the dropdown though. :-/
I’m right there with ya Drain Bead and there was no nursing involved. Say “Wacoal”.

representation: a statement or account to influence opinion or action.
These women want to influence Lane Bryant to make more and better buxom-size bras. If this survey did not get enough responses, or got a bunch of people saying LB was adequate for their needs, then chances are they woulndn’t change anything.
I’d call that wanting representation. It’s not always a political word.
They do? I’ve never heard of that. A cargo pocket as in the type you see on cargo pants?
I thought she meant cleavage itself sort of functions as a cargo pocket.
And here’s another thing: I swear they’ve changed how they determine band size.
The last time I looked it up, at least a couple of years ago, it was inches around the chest, just under your breasts, and then you subtracted. I think it was four inches. Now, they’re say round up to the next even inch.
I measure 41" around the chest. I’m wearing a 38DD, and the band is too big while the cups are a bit too small. They’re telling me I should wear a 42DDD or 42G? Ain’t gonna happen!
Yes, I meant that the cleavage functions as a pocket. My breasts have always been fairly big, and so the part of the bra that is supposed to fit snugly against my body in the cleavage area will have a gap in it, no matter what size or style I choose.
I measure 41-1\4 there. I have two bras that are 40 DD. One is a cheapo and the band stretches out so that it is loose and the other is a sports bra that I want to be tight. Otherwise, I wear a 42 H. It very much depends on the brand and the material of the bra itself.
Ah, gotcha.
So, one of two things are happening here:
When you measure the band put the tape directly under your breasts and it should be pulled SNUG - remember - you want the band of the bra to do most of the heavy lifting so it should fit very close to the body.
Do this measurement while wearing your best fitting bra (even if it’s brutal) so you can fully get the girls out of the way.
If the band on your 38 is much too large, riding up, letting the girls slip out the bottom, I’d be shocked if you actually measure 41’ around your rib cage. (remember - this measurement is around the ribs, not around the boobs).
Measured again and got a 39. You may be on to something.
I am wise in the way of bras. ![]()
I for one welcome our Large boobed overlords:D
I keed I keed its what I do.
I feel empathy for what women have to go through to be comfortable.
