This the worst news I’ve heard recently. This is terrible.
About the same age my daughter was when she lost her mother (and I’m assuming by the same cause of death). I hope there’s someone there to tell him that although there may not ever be a day when he doesn’t think about her, if he can just get through this time now there will be the day when she won’t be the first thing he thinks of.

What terribly sad news. I wasn’t always exactly her biggest fan, but her distinctive personality was certainly part of what made the SDMB what it is.

It’s shocking and very sad, especially for her son. We hadn’t seen OpalCat around here in a while, but she was a big presence on the board and left a huge impression that won’t soon fade.
She was one of the first people I met online. She was about the same age as my brother (down to the day). My condolences to her son.
