At least for a month or so. I go to jail today. I’d love to hear from you. My mailing address will be:
Kent Heustess
Knox County Detention Center
5400 Maloneyville Road
Knoxville, TN 37918
Please, no contraband…unless you can fashion a convincing greeting card from a sheet of blotter acid.
There once was a hippie from Mars
Who frequented parties and bars
Or at home he would drink
A wiser choice, one would think
'Cause he only got busted in cars
TN*hippie, as soon as I get home from work I’ll bake a cake with a nail file in it. The frosting will be spiked with LSD. The candles will be hollowed out and filled with marijuana. I’ve always wanted a month or so to myself, but I doubt that’s the way one would want to do it. Stay away from anyone named Bubba.
oh my gosh…I’m writing you a letter right now…about the time I did exactly that…hahahahahahahaahahahaha…ahem…when I was MUCH younger and under the direct influence of Jerry Garcia.
Zette, the way I understand it, our beloved hippie was nabbed some time ago while ‘under the influence’ in a motor vehicle or ‘DUI’ and had a court date to clarify whether he would be incarcerated for a month…or not…
apparently, the ‘or not’ side lost…sigh…
I say, lets all of us mail stuff to TN, make sure he gets one hell of a bag of fan mail…
…in advance for all those delightful cards ‘n’ letters.
Please include limericks: they are still legal, though many of them probably should not be. I love you guys.
Hey, TN, do you know the policies the jail has about what can be mailed in? A friend of mine went to jail a while back and he gave us a printout, but I don’t remember quite what was on it. For example, could I mail you some stationery and stamps? How about books and magazines? Could I send you a money order to buy snacks? (Don’t say I shouldn’t - I wasn’t going to send very much anyways!)
Thanks! I’m looking forward to seeing you back after you’ve served your time.
Sorry to be an idjit, but did TN actually go in? Is it safe to send cards and gifts and such?
Zette
PS- maybe the jail has a website (possibly) with a list of allowed stuff.
