As to the OP I agree it is a bit disconcerting that an adminstrator doesn’t understand the severity of the privacy breach. It is even more disconcerting that said administratior decided that this privacy breach was fertile grounds for jokes. I along with many members of this board are pissed about this. An administrator joking about it is a bad show indeed. Certainly is a reflection on the boards refound commitment to privacy in a decidingly negative fashion.

Good advice if I was a newbie. I’ve been posting here for 4 years, lurking 2 before that. I know what gets people warned, what gets people banned. Nothing that I’ve posted before this thread was anywhere near worthy of a formal warning, in my opinion at the time I posted it and in the opinion of the administration and moderators who didn’t warn me after I posted it. I did have a pretty good feeling that that thread would get locked, but not after I got an answer, so that’s why I started it. And that was my first locked thread in those four years.
This thread, I feel pretty much the same way about. Will it get locked? Probably. Will I get warned? Probably not. Will I get my answer? Yes.

I’m glad you’ve got the administrative tripwires all worked out, but honestly is it really worth beating on Dex like a conga drum because he seems insufficiently contrite for your tastes?
