I think his problem is that it was a post about bondage movies after you had gotten pitted by a lot of people for talking about bondage so much.
EC, you’re not a one-trick pony, but you do have one favorite trick you pull out all the time. I suspect that Dex is just tired of the trick.
But that shouldn’t affect his ability to post about it. I think that this is a case of mistaken intent. Maybe you should e-mail Dex and see if you can get the thread re-opened.

Dex made a remark about baiting. I don’t think Captor started the thread just to tweak the nose of whoever had a problem with him and bondage.
I don’t think that Captor should be prevented from opening threads because he was pitted for something. I’m hoping that this is an honest mistake that can be corrected.
Then why’d he start the post with:

Well, that comment may have been a tweak and shouldn’t have been there, but I still don’t think the thread was baiting anything. YMMV.

I started this thread because I wasn’t sure if you were bothered by the bondage part or by the warning. Because of the recent pit thread about my bondage posts, I thought it best to put a warning up front about the bondage content. If that’s the part that bothers you, I don’t mind at all if it’s deleted. My intent in starting the thread was to discuss bondage scenes in mainstream film, if anyone was interested. I do not see how anyone could think otherwise, given the nature of the bulk of my post.
I agree with Dex. The thread was just another example of EC fwap-fwap-fwapping over his fetish for sticking bondage under people’s noses. It’s pretty clear that EC not only gets a kick out of bondage scenes, he gets a kick out of exhibitionistically inserting them in inappropriate places. He gets a chub off of surprising people with sexual-bondage imagery when they’re not expecting it. Personall, I think Dex is right for not letting EC indulge his weird little guerilla-porn fantasies in CS. That’s my “in the first place,” that CS is not here for EC’s private little wankfests.
In the second place, what’s next? “List your favorite rape scenes, and why!” or whatever.

Let’s see, has been sharing the contents of his mind for 7,679 posts now. No, this doesn’t give anyone the unequivocal ability to “read his mind” (I can’t believe I’m actually wasting the pixels to address this), but it gives us all a certain familiarity that informs the kind of interpretations and judgments that we ALL make of each others’ communications on these boards. Speculation as to another person’s motivation is something we ALL do, all the time, usually without the vast amounts of personal data that EC has supplied to us here. Who doesn’t have a theory as to why Cruise and Holmes are engaged? or what Scooter Libby’s reasons were? Spare me.
“You can’t read minds” is not an automatic get-out-of-jail-free card. It amounts to about the same thing as “reasonable doubt,” and might constitute a loophole for EC if this were a murder trial, but “prepoderance of the evidence” is adequate for me, and the preponderance of the evidence that EC has been sharing here–for 7,679 posts–is pretty clear.
