Hey all, any recommendations on hotels/resorts/places to stay in Cabo?
I have a Chinese lady friend now living in Toronto that wants somewhere warm, and I’ll be in San Diego this weekend. So, Cabo is convenient for me at least.
Just looking for somewhere warm. I went about a decade ago with little kids and stayed in an all inclusive place. Good for times, but don’t need an all inclusive. I suppose either a hotel or a resort on the beach is probably what we want. Pools, decent restaurants, easy. The nightlife is not a draw. Perhaps being close to some restaurants would be good. Prefer not to go over $2-300/night.
Any voice of experience?
Of the three places I’ve stayed in Cabo, only Playa Grande Resort fits your parameters. Not as high end as some of the other resorts, but plenty nice (much nicer than comparably priced hotels in the US) and a short walk to the center of town. The beach isn’t swimmable (only the expensive places have those), but great for relaxing.
ME Cabo and Breathless are the other two I’ve stayed at, but those are all-inclusives and rather pricey. They’re great if you’re into that, but I prefered Playa Grande and getting out of the resorts more.
@duality72 Appreciate the recommendation. FYI, ended up booking Royal Solaris
Nice. A bit far from the nightlife for me, but I’d be interested to hear what you think of it after.
Royal Solarius was fine, and lady friend from China by way of sub-freezing Toronto was happy. Cold beer, sandy beach, up to 50% of guests were from Mexico, no east coasters (unlike Cancun), nice enough, food was ok. We didn’t leave the grounds the entire time, so can’t really tell you anything more. Pretty great for 5 nights, and relatively “budget” pricing.
Depends on what you want. I wanted an easy place on the beach we could just walk to in 2 minutes, and that was exactly what was delivered.
