Hi, honeys, I’m home!! I left just after 11 to make my long weekend just a wee bit longer. I’ve got a cat on my shoulder licking my face and pawing at my neck - methinks she wants attention. I need to make myself some lunch, and eventually, I’ll wind up in the studio playing with glaze.
Original weekend plans involved building the closet in the guest room, but I did something to my back last week and any bending or lifting is very difficult. And since lots of bending and lifting are necessary to empty the room before we can even start work I suggested we pass till Thanksgiving weekend. So now I don’t know what we’ll do with our 3 days off. Tomorrow is supposed to be mild, so mebbe we’ll take the boat out on the river?? Who knows.
This day is going quite nicely, thank you
Sprinkler guuy came and went, laundry is done, Oil guys have been here for an hour and are still working on the problem. I have to kick them out at 1:30, tho, because I have to get changed before I leave for hair by 2:15 (and I am a slow dresser) but all the stuff I have to bring tonight is ready. (now I just have to remember to bring both totes and to clean out the car)
My not-quite-friday-but-close-enough-since-I-don’t-work-tomorrow-anyway got off to a bad start this morning when I awoke two hours later than intended and only had about 45 minutes to study for the exam I had at 8. I think I did alright, but it was still unpleasant.
After work things should get better though as my roommates and I are going to be watching Star Wars Episode I with Mike Nelson making fun of it.
I know , and humble to boot! (that one always kills me)seriously though, thanks
It’s the sore throat. I wouldn’t be being quiet if I didn’t have a sore throat.
Quasi-Daughter is coming over tomorrow around ten, and mailing resumes and things all day. She wants our computer, and I want my kitchen clean. It’s a lot more fun doing housework with someone else, especially someone else who is content to do it while I sit on the couch with a cup of tea. Perfect.
It’s definitely lunchtime. I’ll be eating dinner at eight, so I schedule lunch late. In Kitchen Diaries, Nigel Slater says he eats one real meal a day, and a lot of other stuff. Other stuff means fish sticks, beans on toast, cheese on toast, and standing around near the fridge eating random leftovers.
Good [del]evening[/del] [del]morning[/del] afternoon! I up and having coffee,Wondermutt is sacked out on the bed. Whoever coined the phrase “work like a dog” never met Maggie.
swampy, you were thinking about me? That explains the feeling of dread I was having last night. If you are Prince of Insufficient Light, is Joe Dawg the Hound of Heck?
Puggy I could deal with scratches if it made dehorking eaisier.
rosie, we just need the new people to blather more, then we would go back to the 10+ page masterpieces of yesteryear.
Well, Joe Dawg is not my dog, but Hound of Heck suits him nicely. Usually I just call him devil dawg. Whenever people have feelings of dread or sudden throes of ecstasy, that means I’ve thought about 'em.
So has anybody [del]been pushed forward[/del] stepped up to volunteer for Monday yet?
Criminal Justice with a focus on anti-terrorism. One of my professors (and the best lecturer I have ever met) is an internationally recognized terrorism expert and he really got me interested in the the area.
I got rudely rousted from my warm bed this morning by a friend who called to tell me I was meeting her for lunch in an hour. So I had to get hoppin’. I had nummy chicken boobies at TGIFriday’s. Then I went to WallyWorld to buy a sweater for Magic. It was a wild guess, but he’s actually wearing the damn thing without a struggle. Of course he did the “I can’t walk with this on” act for a few minutes and kept falling over, but he looks quite cute. I’ll post pictures later. His fur is so short I don’t want him to get cold.
I need to get the catboxes emptied before the hockey game comes on at 7:30 - it’s an away game so I’ll be listening on the internet and yapping in the chat room. Go Snakes!
McCelloMan is also [del]being tortured[/del] going to grad school? Who knew?
I just spent a total of 23 hours putting together a 5 page web document, which I am not sure I am allowed to either post here per SDMB or per the uni, so I won’t.
I hated it at first, but once I got how to do it–it was fun in a weird way. Work as a nurse tomorrow–I called in today from the library to finish this lil project. Now I only have a 20 page paper, a group project and assorted short assignments to go!
I’m trying to chart out my scarf, but I keep messing it up. I want some of that nifty knitting software! I’m beginning to suspect that I enjoy the accessories more than the knitting…Now crocheting is different, I like to crochet. The hook and yarn does exactly what I want it to, with no arguing. Unfortunately, knitting makes nicer garments, so unless I want to stick to Barbie doll toilet paper cozies, I guess I need to keep knitting. Actually, I do have a pattern for a crocheted doll toilet paper cozy. It came in the only book there is that teaches left-handers how to crochet. If I ever do make one, I’ll be sure to post pictures.
I would like not to go to work tonight. I have to figure out a way to get paid for it without going.
I just went through a bunch of stuff, and part of QD’s job tomorrow will be to help me take three bags to the Goodwill dropoff. A lot of it is fabric scraps, which I know they sell to some sort of fibre recycling company. After only ten years, I am parting with several half-metres of fabric in ugly colours. Aren’t I brave?
Sean, some folks have defined Monday Morning as 0001Z, so you could post Sunday night. We’d all understand. It happens to all men at one time or… um… never mind…
