CALIFORNIA the DUMBEST state in the Union

Shayna fuck’em, you are wasting your time trying to enlighten the ignorant fucks. It is obvious as hell that he admitted his assaultive behavior. I am afraid though that many people cannot see the forest for the trees. You know he’s guilty, so do I and so do most of the folks defending him. They can’t justify supporting someone who is morally reprehensible and POSSIBLY (see previous post) criminally negligent.

Therefore they refuse/deny the blatantly obvious by means of loopholes, wordplay and contradiction of terms.

When the defense entails tactics such as blaming the victim or attempts to distort the charges sexual harrassment is subjective and deny evidence he never admitted to anything When he clearly did admit to something which he left unclear.

Logic implies that if someone is charged with several cases of harassment. If the alledged perpetrator claims that most of these charges are false. Then some of them must be true.

Sorry to say, that is a fallacy :frowning:

But he did ask for forgiveness and apologized for his bad behavior. This is evidence that he knows his behavior was wrong. That is tantamount to an admission of guilt. Sexual harrassment is well-defined and ignorance is no defense. Cases as recent as ten years ago are reported. So let’s not blame it on indiscriminate youth.

BTW Would the waitress he (allegedly) asked at work in a restaurant with his buddies present. There are supposedly witnesses who corroborate her story. That he asked her to put her finger in her vagina so he could smell it.

That sounds a little over the top wouldn’t you agree. Perhaps it was his friend’s wife whom he squeezed and fondled her breast in the gym against her will. Maybe the girl who wanted to be an actress but when A stuck his hand down her pants and gripped her ass so tight she couldn’t get away and all he did was laugh.

Seems like I read an article where he admitted having a lot of group sex and sometimes the girl/s objected at first, but …
Like I said before probably and/or possibly

I don’t know which stories are true, any is too many IMHO.
and remember what Gov. Conan said, “Where there’s smoke there’s fire”.

Maybe these women didn’t bring it up until now because he was just an actor and the damage he could cause as such seemed more personal/individual. But as a politician he could hurt a lot of people. So, despite their own personal endangerment, they chose to inform the world just what an asshole he could be.

It is for all of these and many more reason that sexual harrassment goes unreported in MOST cases. But then, Shayna you already knew that, didn’t you?

and for those of you who got wooshed…this started out as an amusing rant with a lot of humor and digs at each other’s political sides. Sorry that it took a wrong turn. My fault maybe :frowning:

TKEELA –

This is my point. The rest of your post about “defenders” of him “blaming the victim” is a load of crap, of course, but the point about it “possibly” being true or even “probably” being true, but being unclear as to what, precisely, he was apologizing for, is exactly the point.

Shit. That was supposed to be.

You FORGOT to say FUCKING DUH!

We could argue this to death and still not settle anything. We both made our cases and I think we both have good standing. The jury voted and they decided it either didn’t matter or he didn’t do it. In either case he is the governor and we’ll have to live with it.

I think he’s guilty of some of the charges. Surely not all, but some. The actor’s guild claims to have reports of this type of behavior in his past. Whether he recognized his behavior as offensive or not is irrelevant.

So, what’s your gut tell you. Did he or not? In a civil case, judge decides…preponderance of the evidence, who side do you want?

Better settle out of court w/ gag order Conan That’s what your in-laws would do.

If they didn’t just bump’em off

Sorry that post was meant for Jodi

but it’d make a good poll anyway. Is A/S guilty or not?
Probably needs a new thread in IMHO huh?

Do I think he’s probably guilty of something? Sure. Do his weaselly non-answers and track records indicate he’s more likely than not a sexist pig to some degree or another? IMO, yes.

Has he admitted to specific charges of sexual harrassment? No. Can we assume he is a slavering serial harrasser worthy only of our contempt for the way he brutally preys upon women? IMO, no.

Should I stop talking like Donald Rumsfeld? Yes.

Damn, guess what?

I think we found some common ground here. I can stand with ya on that response. Now, would you vote for the guy? Knowing this ahead of time…think Clinton or Bush…if ya knew then etc.

Guess what! We had a Green Party candidate running. Pete Camejo was the name. He was even in the debates, tho I’m not sure if he knew he was in the debates. Kept mumbling [sub]Tax the Rich, Tax the Rich![/sub] Guess he was after some Green !

Got news for you - that budget ain’t gonna balance itself; perhaps you would prefer to tax the poor?:dubious:

Read my lips - Republicans always raise taxes. The only difference is, they lie about it during the campaign.

Well, the one thing Ah-nold is doing well is that he’s seeking out experts in political economics to help us out with the crisis. I’m not a big Arnold fan, had I been registered in time I probably would have voted Camejo, but Arnold may very well be able to help us out. True, he has little in the way of experience managing something this big, but he’s seeking out experts to help him out. He realizes he’s not gonna know everything. He’s doing exactly what someone in charge of a state should be doing, allowing his expert staff to do most of the work for him. Just something worth thinking about, a stark contrast to Davis who pretty much wanted everything to go by his desk, even things which he did not understand.
Sorry if all this is a bit disjointed, I’m tired and about to sleep.

I really don’t get this. So what if our new Governor is republican? Does that mean that Californians will look at GWB differently now? That they will find him more palatable because we found Davis to be a complete and utter moron (and Bustamante to be slimey)?

One thing’s for God damnned sure- Davis wasn’t ANY factor in the Presidential election. Why would you think Arnold would be?

There’s more to the differences between NorCal and SoCal than bipartisan politics and conservativism vs liberalism. Use of natural resources is a pretty big one that comes to mind. Southern California’s thirst for water is a palpable force far and wide. If such issues involving the stewardship of natural resources were on the table, for example, I would bet that the recall bedfellows would have a lover’s spat.

Voting for the recall is one thing. I’d like to see a statewide distribution of the Arnold votes. Anyone seen anything like that?

Well we know he has inappropriately touched a woman before, like the time he grabbed the that British broadcaster’s ass on TV!

Boy, she didn’t like that.

Sorry your right, I read that wrong.

Thought you were talking about 43 not 41.

Is there an MPEG of that out there anywhere? I’d like to see that.

I remember it being shown a bunch of times right after it happened, but as for now, the company has mysteriously refused to release the footage.

Of course on the net you can find anything, I’ll go run a Google.

Here’s a start.

BTW, it looks like this was taped, not live on TV or anything.
