Call of Cthulhu - thread game

Any doper interest in a Call of Cthulhu play by post? I don’t have any experience running any rpg or playing CoC but I have an interest in the subject and I’m tired of hack/slash.

I figured I’d ask if there was any interest before I got to involved in research and planning. And I’d welcome any input.

So, what say you?

I’m interested in more details about what you have in mind. I can’t say for sure I definitely want in or not yet though.

I’m tentatively interested. I would want to more about what you have in mind.

I will say that it can be difficult getting your GM legs underneath you if you’re also running a brand-new game, but if you’re way into the Cthulu mythos then that will help.

I’m not wedded to running the game, I mostly want to get a mythos game going. It won’t hurt my feelings if someone else thinks they could do better.

I don’t have an end-game in mind. My idea involves running alongside The Statement of Randolph Carter to start and diverging from there after the police station.

I am not a mythos scholar. I’ve read most of HPL’s stuff and I listen to several podcasts on HPL’s work and other people playing the game.

I’d possibly be interested.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to intimate that you shouldn’t run the game! You absolutely should if it interests you.

I didn’t take it that way. I’m very worried about running a game. I couldn’t find one so I figured I’d give it a shot. I don’t want to bore or frustrate anyone.

I’m going to work up a few more details to see if anyone wants in. Otherwise, I’ll look for a game someone else is running. Even if it’s a different setting.

If you’re interested in participating in a pBp roleplaying game, check out the rpg.net forums.

Play by post games are difficult to run under the best of circumstances and many (if not most) of them don’t last very long, but there’s almost always a few games incubating at any given point over there.

Cool, thanks. I’ll give it a look.

The CoC RPG game looks fun - I have a copy of the rulebook somewhere. I don’t think, at this time, I’d be able to devote the energy that such an endeavor would require, though I wish you luck with it.
