Call of Duty 4 (Modern War) (Internet)

:smack: Jesus. NOBODY would stand a chance with the trackpad. Yeah, get yourself a mouse. You’ll have infinitely more fun.

Some tips. The “Stopping Power” and “Deep Impact” perks are your friend when you get them. So is the red-dot scope. Shotguns are not. Camping isn’t bad for an noob strategy. If you’re looking to rank up, sometimes the alternate game modes can give you some huge points. Or if you really want to cheat, go to a 64-man “Shipment” server and just start spraying bullets everywhere (use the “Martyrdom” perk for extra douchebaggery :D).

It’s a good game, especially for a noob to first person shooters. Hell, I put 250+ hours into Battlefield 2 and STILL felt like a noob.

That’s funny, because Call of Duty 5 is the game that Infinity Ward would have liked t have made (setting notwithstanding). It’s superior in virtually every way.

No need to be a snob about it.

Dead Silence is your friend, especially with silencers, and especially in Hardcore.

Modern Warfare was a great single player game but for some reason the multiplayer just didn’t grab me.

I played World at War over the weekend and loved it both in single player and multiplayer mode. It is the same game with different guns, maps and uniforms but it works for me.
I guess I need Nazi’s to kill to make me interested

Hmm. I’m prepared to give it a chance, but so far colour me unimpressed. Doesn’t seem to push the franchise at all, something you definitely can’t accuse CoD4 of.

Multiplayer tips for Modern Warfare; Upgrade the M16 with red dot sight, add the double damage perk (forgot what it’s called, it’s been a while, stopping power?) and martyrdom (because I’m a massive n00b) and you’re set. Very accurate, burst will take down anyone who doesn’t have juggernoob. Good for most maps; even in close quarters.

I also have a sniper setup for the big maps; the first sniper rifle (don’t put the big scope on it, whatever you do; accuracy down the toilet), iron lung and stopping power is my favourite setup for this.

Whatever you do, get the stopping power perk.

CoD:WaW = Blech.

I see it as an utter downgrade from CoD4. Buying this game the day it came out, I’m still only 1/4 through the campaign and am level 25 or so online. I do not play this game anymore.

Compare that to CoD4 which I bought about 6 months after it came out, beat the campaign within three days, then played online until WaW’s release, reaching level 55 4th prestige.

I loved COD4 with a passion and still kind of do. I got pretty burned out on it, though, so I finally got off my ass and went prestige a while back.

COD:WaW is a surprisingly fun game. I wasn’t very psyched for it as it’s a throw-back to WW2 and it’s by Treyarch, but I have to give it credit. I loved the single player campaign and played it through in a week by giving it every free second I had. It was intense in many places in a way that COD4 wasn’t.

Online I’m still acclimating to WaW but I do like it. I think I’m about level 25 now and am doing relatively well now that I know the maps a little better.

Just finished the solo campaign. That was really good. Better in game play than COD4 IMO but less so on the story side. I liked the weapons more.

That big ass Russian/German sniper gun was fantastic. The guys just exploded or limbs went flying.

Now to kill some Zombie Nazies

The campaign was fun although a little short. Until they fix the way they match you up I refuse to play against anyone online. The only multiplayer I play is against Nazi Zombie. The highest round has been 13.

Your loss, although I think you have a good gripe.

I disagree completely. COD:WW is just COD4 with a weaker story, slight improvements to gameplay, and a huge step backwards by setting it back in World War II. They just piggy backed on everything Infintiy Ward did for COD4, including using the same engine without any real imrovements. Is it a good game? sure, but it does nothing to move the series forward. as they say, it’s an evolution not a revolution, whereas COD4 was definitely the later.

And of course there’s a need to be a snob about it, if I can’t be a snob about video games what can I be a snob about?! :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously though, I hear what you’re saying, I just disagree

Snob!

I haven’t played the single-player, and I don’t intend on doing it, either. Of course they piggybacked on what Infinity Ward did. That’s what they’re supposed to do.

With the refinement (and, more importantly, the multiplayer map design), it’s a better product.
