Camden Yards

I’ll be rooting for the home team that night, and I’ve heard about this being controversial before, but I really don’t see the problem. I’ll look forward to it. :slight_smile:

Thank you for that. That schedule isn’t particularly conducive to when I’m planning on getting to the area, and I’m spending the night right by the stadium and going back by Amtrak in the morning, so I guess I’ll just take Amtrak there. The info is much appreciated!

It was also to avoid paying some jerk who copyrighted lots of the likely names for the park. He happened to not copyright “Oriole Park at Camden Yards.”

So I had a great time at the game Friday night. Some quick observations:

  1. Both Orioles and Yankees fans are fairly obnoxious, but (mostly) amusing;

  2. Y’all hit a lot of home runs on that side of the country. Must be continental tilt or something;

  3. The Orioles fans tradition of shouting out “O!” during the National Anthem is far more annoying in person than I would have guessed;

  4. Boog Powell makes some mean BBQ.

I was pleased to be able to collect a certificate acknowledging my first visit to the stadium. I also made my first stab at scoring a game, which wasn’t perfect (too many damn Yankee pinch hitters), but wasn’t bad. Enjoyed my seat, enjoyed how into the game the crowd was, enjoyed the view of downtown from the stadium.

So, 10 stadiums down, 20 more to go. The advice and commentary here was much appreciated!

When I eventually add Dodger Stadium to my collection, I’ll want advice from you.

“1. Avoid wearing Giants-themed clothing.”

It’s really, really annoying when they do it at a Nats game. That’s died out, but the first few years in DC it happened far too often.
