Once he made the “snapping” motion while saying “Now is the time to snap the Democratic stranglehold . . .,” I thought for certain he’d work in Joey Gladstone’s “Cut-It-Out” combination of hand movements.
Le sigh. Why do my politicians always disappoint me?
I’m confused. He’s been a councilor for 13 years (1 finger right hand, 3 fingers left hand), but the people of Stark County are going to see this level of excitement for only 8 weeks (5 fingers right hand, 3 fingers left hand)? Or do they get treated to this for a full 53 weeks to show how committed he is (even though he should just be plain committed)?
“Politics isn’t football! Politics is WINNER TAKE ALL!”
My feeling was that he was extremely nervous – he’s probably used to small-town politics, and he’s not at all comfortable mixing it with the big boys in Canton (the county seat of Stark County). So he’s overcompensating by being really aggressive – but it doesn’t work, of course.

Head like a Big Toe, but far less smart.
Do Not Take Prilosec OTC if running for Public Office. Specific indications may include dry mouth, loud public sobbing, and uncontrollable public behaviour…
Awww shucks; by the end, and by the way he was looking at his right I was expecting him to be caught with a giant butterfly net and dragged off the stage.
