While rooting through boxes of stuff stored at my parents’ home, I unearthed a large plastic bottle filled with pot seeds. Filled by me, that is, roughly between 1970-1980. I always hankered to grow my own, but didn’t have the privacy or know-how.
I know there are still lots of grower’s guides out there, and I’ll risk the Cyber-Eye of Sauron the Narc spotting me if I have to-- but meanwhile, can anyone here advise whether these seeds are even capable of sprouting? If so, what’s the best method for checking for viability, aka germinating them?
It’s about an eight-ounce jar, so there are hundreds of seeds. I’m sure some are rotten, desiccated, etc. I don’t want to buy a gross of ice-cube trays and a twenty-pound sack of potting soil, or a gross of little peat pots, or whatever. Still, I would love to scratch a Jones that never died. Any informed suggestions on sorting, sampling, etc.?
