I’m a long time hard copy doper - but I’ve just recently found this board, and what a marvelous board it is!
asskiss mode off
I need some help with a cartoon that I can barely remember but it was really cool and I think with such an eclectic mix of people here SOMEONE might know what I’m talking about…
OK - it was an animated movie - not a TV show. the hero was kind of a dumb blonde barbarian type guy, there was a damsel in not-so-much-distress, there was a evil nasty guy - and here’s the one thing I remember that may click somebody’s memory - the evil guy had a pet rat named… “Ratatouille”
the other thing about this animated flick was it wasn’t drawn - I think it used like the same type of animation as South Park - with paper cut outs - just a jillion times better…
Oh - and it was funny as hell…
Anybody have any clue what this cartoon is???
I’ve looked on IMDB for “ratatouille” and couldn’t find anything…
Thanks a ton - and I’ll try to contribute more to the board if I have anything of value to say!
Boy this is ringing one hell of a bell in my head, but I can’t quite place it either.
Any idea what time frame we’re talking about? What year it was made?
Oh, and welcome aboard.
I’m thinking maybe around mid to late 80’s…maybe even very early 90’s…
it was very funny - very silly - I think the heroes had to save world from the evil guy…imagine that.
I just remembered there was also a hero who didnt talk…a skinny guy…and the barabrian was always treating the damsel like she needed help and she would just make fun of him and walk away…
I think it might have had some semi famous people doing the voices too…
Yes!! I loved that movie. It was called “Twice Upon a Time” and the plot involved the evil Synonemous Bosch’s plan to stop time, plant Nightmare bombs all over the world and give everyone Nightmares forever.
The superhero was named Rod. The damsel in no so much distress was named Flora Fauna.
Our Real Heroes were Ralph the All-Purpose Animal and Mumford.
It was great. Lots of swearing and stupid jokes. They also made a cleaned up version for the kiddies.
Mullinator - I believe I will…everyone here will support me when I get poop canned right??
for all those interested - I just picked up my copy at Amazon for $13.99
it’s only on VHS - no DVD (yet) and I was SO close on the date - 1983. The only famous person is Lorenzo Music who did the doorman from Rhoda and also the voice of Garfield - the cartoon cat who made me laugh my ass off when I was in 5th grade - but who has not been funny at ALL for the last 10 years. and it’s NOT just me getting older so nyah
I also had no idea this movie was produced my George Lucas - wow.
Thanks again - I’m off to go pick up my soon to be fiance’s engagement ring for my proposal this saturday - if anyone is in the Chicago area for the Air and Water show and you want to see a cool proposal - go to the Museum of Science and Industry saturday morning - thats where I’m proposing!
