I was in a Chinese restaurant where the “musaz” was definitely pop Chinese (or SE Asian) music…as opposed to traditional sounding music. You almost don’t need the tune as the transliterate “lyrics” are quite simple:
Yi-yo, aye-yi-yi-yi-yi yi-yo, yi-yo! (I WAG this is the chorus)
If one were to speak these tonal sounds, it is awfully close to how it sounds when played with the music, only slower. If anyone can ID this song, can this music be found in your average “sjopping mall” chain CD store? And, if I like this, do you know of other such groups I might like, too?
