Can anyone identify this movie?

One of my friends posted this today on FB:

I need your help remembering a movie that I’ve been trying to remember for 20+ years. 80’s movie. There’s a man with white hair and a cowboy hat. He’s probably dead by now. Anyhoo, slim chick with long black hair gets home and her Doberman dogs have been killed and someone stuffed them in furniture, like a buffet type thing. Then another scene is she gets in the living room and she has a pet monkey that is also dead. Another scene she goes to take a shower and all of a sudden, there’s only hot water coming out and the dude with the white hair locks the shower so she can’t get out and she gets burned really bad. That’s all I remember.

It’s been driving me crazy, and if nobody here can identify it, I give up.

I haven’t seen Dobermans in a movie much since I watched The Doberman Gang as a kid, but I did find a list of movie with Dobermans in them, and they all seem to link to IMDB. I hope that helps.

She remembered the title, it was “Nightkill”, with Jaclyn Smith and Robert Mitchum. None of the clues she gave were present in any description of the movie. Thanks again for your help.
