I only saw the tail end, so I don’t know if it was theatrical or made for TV. This was maybe 20 years ago, and it was contemporary, not vintage. It was set in the USA.
Scenario: An older mobster has been shot in the gut somewhere outside the city, and his buddy is driving him to the nearest hospital in a Cadillac or a Lincoln. They’re traveling at top speed down country roads when a female Highway Patrol officer pulls them over to the side.
The buddy tells her “My friend has been shot!”
She says “Stay in your vehicle, please,” and goes around to the passenger side of the car. She asks the mobster who’s bleeding out in the front seat “What seems to be the problem, sir?”
The guy is in agony but manages to lift a gun in his left hand and shoot her point-blank. She’s knocked off her feet and lands flat on her back.
The guy driving steps on the gas and they peel out, leaving the officer spread-eagled on the ground. He says to his buddy “You killed a woman!” The wounded guy replies “I killed a COP!” and dies a few seconds later.
Ring any bells?
