WARNING - MAJOR SPOILERS IN THIS OP
Anyone see this one?
There were a few stars in the movie, the lead bad guy played by Michael Chiklis, Forest Whitaker plays a cop (I believe dirty) Ray Liotta plays a dirty cop, and Common plays a police negotiator.
I really wanted to like this movie, but it almost seemed like the writer and/or director didn’t know how to end it, and got lost in the filming as to what the plot was…
It is a diner robbery gone bad in Anytown, USA.
For some reason, all the bad guys had Irish accents, which really made no sense when you realize the movie isn’t placed anywhere specific. That wasn’t a deal-breaker, though.
I had a hard time following what was going on, and who the “mole” was. Before I get into this any deeper, it would help to know if anyone saw it and would be willing to discuss it.
I did enjoy the movie for the most part, as the pacing was good. However, if you have seen it, I’m curious as to your take on some of the more disjointed segments of the movie.
For one, what was Ray Liotta doing with that guys wife, and why did he almost kill her?
Was the mole the cook?
What was on the disk?
What exactly was Forest Whitaker’s role? He seemed to be a bad guy, but he was shot by another bad guy. I just didn’t get it.
They were trying to set up the guy who was just out of prison that day, but it seemed that he had a brother in IA on the force, and they ended up not framing him.
The guy murders Chiklis at the end, and has no legal issues as a consequence. He’s on parole for a day and kills someone. Oh, and he could have easily removed himself from the area where he kills the bad guy, but tackles him instead and gets into a fight with the guy.
