I think the title is something along the lines of “One Strange Night” (or something). The main characters aren’t A-listers, but they’re attractive and recognizable actors. The male lead is white and the female lead is black and after a whole slew of weird adventures they realize they’re in love, (at the end of the movie.
They’re reporters? or maybe cops? or one’s a cop and one’s a reporter, I don’t know…anyway the mob, or the Shop, or some oddball group is after them, and the black female lead ends up getting the guy out of all sorts of jams.
It’s maybe late 80s early 90s, somewhere around there. (and yes, I googled it, the key words I could think of weren’t helping).
I wasnt sure if that would be it, because of the “not A-Listers” part, but my SO loves that movie and I asked him if he thought it could be it, and he agreed. Figured I would throw it out there and see if it stuck. It did, so I’m glad I could help!
I’ve seen the movie more than once, and i liked it. But for some reason I have a hard time remembering any real detail about it, other than Ralph Fiennes is in it and a bunch of really weird stuff happens.
DId not like that movie. At all. It was set in the far off future of 1999, and had a very graphic POV rape scene which made me feel unpleasant throughout the rest of the film. I have had an intense dislike of any graphic sexual violence in movies or TV (or books) ever since.
