Rarely make it to the Café, but I’m sure one of you might have someone that could help. Others helped me identify a particular musical piece here once before, without much to go on, so thought I’d try this again.
I’m not much of a horror buff, but a few interest me. One day while watching the local channels, this one horror movie came on that intrigued me very much. Only problem was, I only watched maybe 10-20 minutes of it, I had other things going on at the time, but figured it would come back on soon enough, and besides I wanted to watch it from the beginning. Anyway, big mistake, never seen it on since, so my memory of this from about five years ago is going to be even more vague, with so little clues.
Here’s all I remember which isn’t much. It was centered around a large building. It might have been an abandoned school, or possibly old industrial site, I don’t know. I think they said you can get in, but never get out. The building may of even had a high fence with barb wire on it too, but not sure about that even. The only character I remember somewhat distinctly, was a young man, with a pale, white face, had long black stringy straight hair with a high forehead, and maybe bad teeth, was a bit kooky, but friendly. I think he may have had a girl with him too that was also friendly. They were trying to help someone else that was also being chased and were trying to help. The building had lots of hidden places you could go hide into, and something was always after them; I’m guessing crazy people, but again my time with the movie was very short.
Sorry, but that’s about all I have, it’s difficult for me to be certain about much of the details. Is there any Doper horror aficionados that could narrow it down or tell me outright what the title of it might be with so little to go on?
Youtubed a movie trailer from it, and afraid that’s not it, but that was a good shot at it, anyway, and appreciate the help. And for all I know it could have possibly been a large home. If I can find a clip of the white kid that starred in it, I’ll know for sure because of the way he looked and acted.
Looked at a youtube trailer on it too, nope, but thanks for trying. Currently I’m going through the top 1000 horror movies according to this site and looking at the thumbnail covers opening up a few that show more pics in an effort to try to find it. I’m through the first 100 now.
You say you saw this about five years ago, so 2009 or so? Do you remember what TV station you saw it on (HBO or more like basic cable), and if it seemed like a recent movie?
It wasn’t a dish or a cable channel, I’ve never had that, just over the air. It might have been the C&W channel, they are always playing movies, and generally older ones that they can get cheap. Just a hunch, but it may have been made in the seventies or eighties. I realize this was going to be pretty damn impossible to find. But it sure pops in my head from time to time. The key for me finding it is going to be finding that kooky, thin, pale face kid with the high forehead and long black stringy hair.
Occasionally I will try to go find it again starting with youtube, looking for horror clips on the sidebar seeing if anything might resemble it. I don’t know what to really put into the search engine though since I couldn’t tell you a single actor, director, or a clue to the title, and I doubt it was a haunted house either. I just start with horror movies, and spend time on it every now and then.
No Quimby, it wasn’t that one either, but thanks for all of y’all trying.
What’s the one where the kids find the pirate ship in a cave and get enough money to save the town or whatever? Goonies?
It’s got a goofy looking guy, a big underground maze, a young lady…
Naw, I wouldn’t do that, I really appreciate y’all trying though. And I couldn’t tell you a single detail about the girl of what she looked like. I just felt like he had a companion, maybe a sister that was with them, and they seemed trusting enough for the new person (I think another kid) that had also gotten themselves into the building as well. All were young. The boy may have been a teenanger. It looked like it was going to be quite a scary adventure of avoiding what it was that was after them, and I got the feeling the young kids had enough wits about them to keep from getting seriously harmed.
The building probably had bars on it too along with the barb wire fence up top. I know a lot of horror movies probably have that line about getting in, but you can’t get out. Miller’s movie pick had that in it, but in the trailer I watched never found that one particular kid in it that I described.
At the time, didn’t see enough of the segment I was watching to know why they got there, or how they were going to get out. There weren’t any ghosts in the brief time I had watched it, not sure there were ever any, just too short a segment for me to have watched to know anything more.
I’m still searching the top 1000 horror movies. I’ve opened up probably 30 of the first 500, and still no luck. I could have accidentally missed it in those first 500 though, just going through a quick scan first to see if I can stumble on it.
