First, an explanation of my intentions (for those of you to whom this would matter): As a Christmas present, my wife and I want to present one of our staff with a set of wine glasses, and also present a little Drink Recipe booklet to go along with it. As a joke (the emphasis is for the hopefully few overly politically correct types on these boards), the booklet will have a Terrorism theme. Things like a “Bin Laden Pinata” or an “Anthrax Ripple” or some such other bad puns. Along with the drink recipes, some graphics might help the humor.
I am looking for the picture that was going around several weeks or a month or two ago, purportedly showing a picture taken from the top of the world trade center moments before the plane crashed into it, showing a tourist-looking guy grinning for the camera with the plane in the background headed directly for the camera. It was obviously a photoshop-doctored photograph, and I soon saw a Thread in this General Questions board asking if it were real or not.
Not only did several posters point out factual reasons why this picture was obviously fake, but several others further proved the point by posting links to other pictures showing the same guy present at other disasters (the crash of the concorde, the burning of Saigon, the assassination of Lincoln, the meteor shower wiping out the dinosaurs and the premier of Ishtar), and also a link to the same photo, but with Ernie on the roof instead of this guy.
I have tried to find this thread again, to use one or more of these pictures, but to no avail. I click on the “search” link at the top, change the search time period to “since 90 days” and tried a variety of phrases, from “fake WTC airplane photo” down to simplifying it to “WTC Photo” and even just “World Trade Center” or “WTC” but cannot find the link to this thread.
So one question has nothing to do with the actual picture; it is: WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??? Are there more appropriate phrases I should be using?
And the second question: Does anyone know a) where this thread is or b) links to any of these pictures?
As a corollary, I would also like to find the picture of the WTC smoke streaming up, superimposed with an outline of “the devil’s face” from the contours of the smoke. As long as you might be giving me links, might you have one to this picture as well?
(I suppose as well that if anyone wanted to propose any other cute names for drinks, I’d be a fool to waste the resource that are the smartass - no, make that intelligent, witty and clever - SD posters!)
