I have now seen on two seperate internet sites a photo purporting to be “from a camera of a tourist” who hasn’t been found. It shows a plane heading towards WTC (very near) in the background. My first reaction was “urban legend – easy to fake”. Any informed opinions?

Someone showed me that photo this morning, and I was upset enough to look it up at http://www.snopes.com.

I can’t believe that anyone thought for a second that was real. I mean, just look at it and use your head! The jet is not the slightest bit blurry. It’s not reflecting the light correctly. Even if you can’t say exactly why, doesn’t it just obviously look cut & pasted in?
Not to mention that the guy taking the picture wouldn’t have stood there and clicked the picture with the plane coming right at him.
The most obvious thing (for me) is that the dude is wearing a winter jacket and a hat. It was 85 dF and sunny on the morning of Sep. 11.
Of course if you’re a non-New Yorker you probably wouldn’t know that.

I live eight blocks away from the WTC. (Just got phone service and hot water again recently, still need to go through several police barricades to get home.)
The morning of the eleventh, I was woken up by the sound of the first plane. Not the sound of the crash, but the sound of the plane COMING DOWN. Worst sound I’ve ever heard.
No one could not have noticed that.
So figuring out this was a hoax isn’t too hard. I’d like to see someone figure out the name of the guy in the picture. Poor dude probably posted his picture on the internet years ago only to find himself front-and-center of a WTC hoax.
Actually, what I find shocking is what kind of sick fuck would develop this ruse?
The WTC attacks are should NOT be the source of sick jokes.

lol, like that guy would be wearing a coat in the summer(already mentioned in previous post), and I’m sure the investegators would bother to develop the film of a burnt camera, even if they found one.
