Cool, I hope you win your bet. I really do like Rudy.
I hate to nitpick, but if you are betting on him, this is the proper spelling of his name: Rudy Giuliani

Well, I thought you meant the race… but I’ll take the nomination. Now what do you think ‘in a walk’ means?
You want to go ‘in a walk’ or ‘just wins’?
furt, if you decide you’re willing to take on more exposure on this, I’ve got $50 that says Giuliani doesn’t win the GOP nomination. No ‘by a landslide,’ no ‘in a walk,’ ‘at a dead run,’ ‘barely crawling over the finish line,’ just does he or doesn’t he win the nomination.
Damn, me too, guys. I’d lay $100 that Rudy isn’t the Nominee anytime. Just let me know what sort of exposure you’re into.
What are the odds the Rudy is even going to run?
Just wins. As I said, I think that’s a bold enough bet this far out. If you don’t want it it looks like others do.
Deal?
I’ll take it. Just wanted to nail the details down, as it appeared there was ambiguity.
How many divorces has Giuliani had? (We’re not talking pretty ones, either.) How many gun-control policies did he advance when he was mayor of NYC? Giuliani has serious, serious baggage.
Wikipedia says he’s on marriage #3. Donna Hanover (the one who was in “The Vagina Monologues” and who he broke up with while mayor) was wife #2, and the former Judith Nathan, who he left Hanover for, is wife #3. Rudy was also alleged to have had an affair with another woman while married to Hanover.
Since that transition happened amidst Rudy’s Senate run against Hillary Clinton, there was plenty of media coverage of the whole circus. I’m sure everyone’s oppo research departments already have a full clipping file on Rudy, just in case.
Republicans love Jews. They love Israel. It’s Muslims and rest of the Middle East that they hate. But Bloomberg is solidly anti-gun. Not just a little bit, but a whole lot.
I’m sure they do – in Israel. But there are too many in the religious-right segment of the Pubs’ base who would never vote for any non-Christian for an American public office.
IIRC, that by itself didn’t get New Yorkers particularly annoyed, but the fact that he’d moved his (then) mistress into taxpayer-funded Gracie Mansion after kicking out his still-wife was major tabloid fodder.
The fundies will love that.
Is Giuliani actually doing the sorts of things involved in getting ready to run for President - like pulling together an organization, and raising money? It’s hard for me to believe he’s going to actually run, on account of stuff like this.
Informing his wife about the separation via press conference was also bad form. Although the religious right has ignored such things in the past.
