Watching the Oprah Winfrey Show with Pam Grier(Foxy Brown), something she said didn’t sound right to me.
She said, "There was an epidemic of a lot of people doing cocaine and it accumulated in the body and often in the prostrate gland and it would come out during your sexual activity, and inside a woman it could harm her. (My doctor) said, ‘You’ll have to ask your mate to wear protection…’ It would protect me from getting the drug into my body… and so I had to tell Richard, ‘You’re gonna have to wear a raincoat’, and he had an issue with that…”
So how true is that? Can Cocaine be transmitted via Semen during sexual activity?
That quote looks like BS to me too. I’m sure SOME coke is present in semen, but suggesting it would have any effect on you would be like worrying about getting drunk from making out with an alcoholic.
Consider a 90 kg (200 lb) man who snorts a gram of coke one night. Assuming the drug is evenly distributed throughout his body, that’s about 10 mg coke per kg body weight. Let’s say he ejaculates 5 ml, which is on the heavy side but not uncommon. That gives us about 5 g of semen containing about 5g*.01g*(1/1000g)=50 ug cocaine. To be on the safe side lets increase that 10-fold to account for the fact that it probably isn’t really distributed evenly throughout your body (I doubt your bones/connective tissue really absorb much, and maybe your prostate really does concentrate it, though I doubt it). That’s maybe 500 ug or half a milligram per ejaculate. A reasonable line is probably 50-100 mg (you can get 10-20 lines out of a gram, or so I’ve been told…). So to get a line’s worth you’d need to completely absorb the coke in 10-20 large “loads.” Given that cocaine is metabolized rather quickly in your body (it’s only detectable in drug tests for a few days), I doubt that this sort of exposure is anything to worry about.
I would call BS on this claim. Cocaine is rapidly metabolized by a mixture of serum cholinesterases, plasma pseudocholinesterases, and hepatic enzymes. The elimination half life of Cocaine is approximately 1 hour, so after about 8 hours there is no trace of “cocaine” left in the body. Cocaine and its metabolites are excreted by the kidneys, with about 85-90% recoverable in the urine, of that, only between 1% and 5% is the actual compound (the rest is metabolites).
Benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, is present in breast milk for 36 hours after administration, and you can see it and a few others in the urine for about that long.
So, after about 36 hours after someone used cocaine, there is hardly any left, and since it is rapidity metabolized, I doubt there would be enough in the prostrate to make any difference in the little bit of seminal fluid the prostrate releases.
I hesitate to mention it, but… men have been known to apply cocaine directly to the penis. And Richard Pryor is exactly the man to do it. Grier also mentions in her autobiography that her mouth went numb…
That’s a rebuttal of the notion that it could be cocaine passing through the man’s body, which I thought was already effectively rebutted right here.
I gave the link (either would have done) in support of the alternate theory, that Pryor was, in addition to snorting prodigious mounds, sprinkling it directly on his dick.
when i was younger i used to do blow almost every day. it was to the point where i was in psychosis even if i wasnt high. i could hear voices and shit while i would be walking around in broad daylight. i got clean after that.
but while i was doing drugs that often. my girlfriend at the time didnt like me finishing in her mouth. because it would make her mouth numb/tingle/burn.
one time i finshed on her back and it irritated her skin and made it all red.
and now that im clean she has no problems with my semen at all.
im 100% sure it has everything to do with your diet and what you put into your body.
it’s the same for girls. if they do drugs all the time and only eat meat their vagina will taste bitter/unpleasant. but if they eat healthy and have fruits etc it will make it sweetish.
but yeah i went from eating unhealthy and doing drugs all the time to eating healthy and staying away from cocaine.
my semen went from tasting foul, bitter, and making her mouth numb. to normal and healthy. she even said it almost tasted like marshmallows. but thats probably an exaggeration XD
I read once that it was a gay thing since substances cannot be absorbed thru the vagina but can be absorbed thru the rectum. I guess it takes sodomy to another level.
Cocaine can indeed be recreationally used by the vaginal route.
And then there was that story, which was apparently not an urban legend, about Stevie Nicks. Let’s just say that when she became unable to use cocaine nasally, she found some OTHER way to take it…:eek:
p.s. Until its molecular structure was tweaked (no pun intended) to make it safer, longer-lasting, etc. it was indeed used as a local anesthetic for procedures on the genital area.
