Yes, the Governor of New York said the border is “too open.” Look at the context, though:

I didn’t track down your remaining three cites. Are they as off-point as this one? Did you read them, or did you just Google and cut-and-paste links without checking to see if they said what you claimed?
Oh no, absolutely. They do create a unique problem because most immigration occurs naturally as people go to where they see opportunities, usually they know someone who can help them, they have some sort of plan.
When you strand someone somewhere through false pretenses (which I’m sure is fraud and should be prosecutable, lock up those criminal governor assholes) it makes things much worse for them.
It’s like the difference between someone deciding to go camping, and dumping someone in the woods where they have no idea where they are and they have no survival gear.
My point though is that the crisis these states are facing, which is being caused by the volume of immigrants, that isn’t caused by southern states busing people. That’s a separate issue which has different problems. I guarantee you that if the only immigrants that New York received were the 8K that Texas sent, there would be no crisis. It would still suck but just due to the impact that it has on the vulnerable immigrants being victimized.
The false narrative that Sam and others on the right sometimes try to push is that there were cities that decided to be more welcoming to immigrants, southern governors said they’ll call their bluffs, exported some of their incoming immigrants to those cities, and once those cities actually had to put their money where their mouth was, they were overwhelmed. Those cunning Republican governors sure put those idiot liberals in their place!
Absolutely, and I’ve been calling out his ridiculously poor cites for a long time. But hope springs eternal that after his hiatus, he’d have come back with more interest in reading his own cites and being sure they support what he claims.
I honestly don’t think he’s able to do that. It’s a combination of being Dunning-Kruger sure of his point of view, and just fucking too lazy to read his own cites.
This is a dumb response, CaptMurdock asked what Biden is doing that is encouraging people come here and you post a bunch of links of people blaming Biden without explaining what he is doing. You can do better… What policy or communication of Biden is encouraging immigrants to come to the US?
He used to do better back in the day. I have not been around much in the last decade or so; I just couldn’t stand any kind of social media (which includes the dope for me) with what was going on in American politics. But back in the oughts Sam was one of the more rational conservatives. I kid you not. I learned a lot from him and respected him as a poster. Unfortunately, I think he (and most conservatives, American and Canadian) started to go nuts when Obama was elected President. I still haven’t figured out why.
