Can I circumvent WebSense?

Grr…

The computers at work have WebSense. When I try to hit Yahoo!Sports to check my fantasy leagues, it’s blocked for “sports”. If I try to link to ESPN from the MSN homepage, blocked for "sports.

If I try to hit The Dope it’s blocked as “entertainment”. However if I use Wikipedia, I can use the hotlink on that site to access the SDMB with no problem. (What group of retarded monkeys are running this crap?)

We’re allowed to use our computers to surf as long as it doesn’t cut into work. Also, during breaks and lunch, we can do nothing but, if we choose.

But this is horse**it. I’m not trying to get to goatse or anything. Webtraffic is monitored, so as long as you don’t hit sites that are grossly, or even concievably offensive or harmful to the database, the supervisors don’t really give a damn. Just get your job done.

So, after that rambling opening that maybe should be in a different forum, here’s the question.

What workarounds are there for WebSense? I’ve heard of this blight on humanity before, but never experienced that it’s this insidious. For examople, how can access, say, ESPN?

Thanks for following me this far.

duffer. Perhaps you’re NOT asking for advice that would be telling you how to do something illegal. But I"m closing this just the same.

Why not just go to the powers that be at work and tell them your problem. If they want you to have access, then they will probably figure out how to give you that. If they don’t want you to have what you’re looking for,…oh, well! It’s their machine.
