You could try one yourself and rave about it to her, as something you use when you just don’t want to deal with the rigamarole of washing your hair in the shower but want to keep your hair and scalp clean.

Just to piggyback on this thought, what if the OP not only raved about the Dry Shampoo to the friend with the smelly hair, but also had an “extra” bottle (maybe sample sized - you could use the excuse that you got extra when you bought yours) and give it to the friend.

Or is that too contrived?

I think that is a pretty good idea, actually.

And she does indeed have water in her house. She allows a neighbor to come in and fix the plumbing when she has to. As for anyone else, though…Nope. She doesn’t even have internet access, which she could certainly use. She went to work during Covid at a friend’s house since he has internet. Her TV is ancient, the electricity is who knows what, the house was built in the 50s or 60s, and she will list all the problems and how it’s falling apart, but then does nothing except find reasons to take off so she doesn’t have to spend much time in it.
