Can I make my own wood putty?

The stairs were attached to the house. I don’t know how the treads are fastened.

I had to detach the stairs, I was able to move them as a unit. And then I screwed 2x6’s to them vertical to the floor for support.

Then I tied the whole thing together using joist hangers and more 2x6’s to the wall to the house.

The 1/2" x 5 1/2 oak turned out to be a bit ‘springy’ for proper support. So, I had some angle iron. I cut that in half and bolted it together forming a T. I then mounted that under the new landing and for extra support and bought a screw jack and that holds the T iron firmly under the landing.

A lot of this was done because the new landing throw the levelness of the stairs off a little bit. And I didn’t want to build new stairs as well.

This project was not so much designed, but ‘step by step’. I was not sure if what this would really be until I got those stairs moved.

Follow the copper or plastic tube from the back of the fridge if it is there. Might go through a hole into the basement or behind the cabinets.

Check for a saddle valve clamped to a water pipe.

If you have one of those in place, it could be shut or could have failed. Look at the exposed threads on the little T valve stem. Try shutting it first to see the current open/shut state. Don’t force it and don’t open it too much (the valve stem can shoot right out, giving you a jet of water).

Then, if it’s open and no water comes from the fridge, I’d replace the saddle valve. They do go bad after several years. It’s an easy enough fix, though you need to shut off the water source.

Yeah, right now the fridge needs to be moved to see anything. Pantry on one side, cabinet above, and cabinet on the other side.
I can’t even get my hand back behind it to take a picture. I gotta move it to see what’s up.

And people say they are worried that they won’t have anything to do when they retire. Put on your seat belts.

Thanks! Looks great!

Heh. Always something needing doing in a house/home.

The stairs look like a nice job.

Thanks. Thought I had the day off. Haaaaa. I need to get 100+ of garden hose and a reel. Mount it on the house. It’s horrible dry here.

Thought about just charging the sprinkler system, but it’s the trees that need water

And – just to state the obvious (since I don’t know if your previous area had irrigation systems built-in): if you did/do charge it in the winter (ie, any time after it’s been blown out), you have to blow it out again.

When we (pretty much any and all of us, during a low-precipitation winter) winter water, we do exactly what you describe: haul out the hose and a sprinkler, run it for a while, drain it all, and put it all away.

This pisses the shit out of me.I’ve worked for 3 irrigation companies. One of them I owned. I was the primary designer. If you design it right, you don’t have to blow the thing out. Just open a few drain valves on the main line. Takes a few minutes.

But no, this system at my new house was not designed that way. I gotta drag a compresser out for this system.

These irrigation companies are either completely stupid, or they want to get the extra bucks in the fall to blow it out. I think its a bit of both.

I might have to make some changes. Install drain valves. This is not the proper forum for what I really want to say about this.
