On Reddit I did see this joke (not a real incident) about a bad Doordash delivery:
Funny thread, but this reminded me of a movie I did see on TV when I was a kid around the 70s (it could had been a movie from the 60s or 50s). And it is driving me crazy as I can not figure out what movie it was.
Close to the end of the comedy, the protagonists who were a young butler and a young maid (Cook?), decide to enjoy a few days off and play with the mansion’s amenities, as the owners were traveling. There was a big banquet for important guests to happen in a few days, the couple decided to get more time off and made a big food order to be delivered from a fancy restaurant hours before the banquet.
And of course, the delivery bus or van crashed close to the mansion.
The maid and the butler drove to the accident and managed to pick almost all the food, one scene had the butler bringing a flattened box to the maid’s car, she complained about the how the food looked, but he said that they could explain it as a different exotic dish! Another scene had a dog close to the accident eating from a box that landed on the curb, the butler asked: “what is your dog eating?” the owner said a fancy name of a dish and the butler just said: “oh, not mine, carry on…” One final scene showed the butler looking for one more dish when suddenly a water line bent by the crash gave in and drenched him. Cut to a scene where the couple succeeded in saving the banquet, but the butler had to serve the food all drenched with a shrunken uniform.
What was that movie?
And has anyone had food disasters like those?
