I keep a busy schedule and sometimes, when I’m dividing my attention between a half-dozen things, I forget a key appointment.
I’m interested in buying some kind of possibly portable system that has multiple alarms, but doesn’t operate on my PC desktop, as my PC is not always on, or I’m away from my desk.
I do not have a PDA and frankly I do not know if I need one–certainly not one with all kinds of fancy capabilities. Also, I prefer to keep my contact info in a Rolodex or on my desktop.
>>> In short, does anyone sell a portable, battery-powered alarm clock or appointment keeper that has several alarms that I can set in the morning to remind me of my daily appointments? Digital is good.
Thanks!
I have no personal experience with it, but you might want to check out something like Watchminder.
I have a Timex internetmessenger watch, basicly a watch with built in pager, so work can contact me out of hours in an emergency.
I use it in conjunction with the YAHOO callendar events organiser, so that whenever I put an event into my Yahoo callendar I set up a reminder message to be emailed to my watch a day and an hour before the event. This way, I would only miss the email if Yahoo went down. The watch has both alarm and buzz function when a message is incoming, so I notice messages even in a noisy environment.
The only downside is you have to remember the watch (never a problem for me) and that the watch is an ugly digital design (which is annoying).
I own a low-end PDA, which I find absolutely invaluable for telling me when stuff is supposed to happen. You don’t have to spend a lot of money for bells and whistles.
