The best part of that link is the video where Miss Gibson reads a card Roy Moore wrote for her graduation. We can see the card, it’s in the camera shot. Then they show Roy Moore on TV saying “I do not know any of these women” which is clearly a lie. THEN Miss Gibson straight up calls him a liar!
And it still won’t affect nearly half of the voters, I bet.
Not that I’m defending Roy Moore (far from it), but do you have any evidence that he “fucked a teen”? None of his accusers has made that claim. You might wish to brush up on defamation of character law… :dubious:

Early/mid January, probably. The election’s on 12/12, but the state has to not only count but certify the count, which can take weeks. That’s assuming it’s not close enough for an automatic recount, or that either Moore or Jones doesn’t call for a recount if it’s not within the automatic margin. Or that the Senate refuses to seat Moore, which is possible but really, really unlikely.
When I was in High School, we used to hold mock elections. I wonder if they are doing that in Alabama High Schools for this election. It could be really cool— they could have the candidates make appearances and everything!!
The ironic thing is that everything Mr. Bannon said could justifiably be said about any of the women Mr. Moore assaulted and about women reporting assaults.
The ugly brilliance of the statement is that it puts these women and their supporters back on defense against accusations of being on the offense. In Mr. Bannon’s world, the women Mr. Moore assaulted are now vicious attackers, and Mr. Moore is all that stands in the way of them and you.

I was a senior in high school in a wealthy suburb of Birmingham during the 1980 election. Seniors were required to take Government, and the entire class (of about 350) divided into small groups to research the election news in every state. In those pre-internet days, that meant going to the library and tracking down the major local newspapers and cribbing polling stories and editorial opinions and the like–we were a very low tech, very unscientific proto-538.
Just before Election Day, we had a mock “convention” in the gym/auditorium, where each small group announced their predictions for each state, and there was a big map on stage colored with the aggregate prediction results. As I recall, we nailed the electoral college landslide for Reagan.
We also had the opportunity during the convention to march for our personal favorite candidate. I was one of the few John Anderson (RIP) supporters, which was the last time I supported a Republican (although he was, of course, running as an independent at the time).
It’s too bad that the Jones-Moore campaign stories tend to bury this zinger by Jones.
