It’s all over but the shouting. With 76% reporting, Moore is ahead by about 51% to 47% with 2% write-ins. I guess the racism overcame the pedophilia among the “Christians”.
Harry, y’all might want to join the rest of us over here…

No, the late vote is blue.
Well I’ll be hornswaggled. One site shows Jones ahead by 0.3% with 89% reporting. Will wonders never cease? Maybe the 11% left is blue.
He’s up by a full 1% 11,000 votes Almost all the remaining counties are heavily Dem.
Fox News was actually the first to call the race for Jones, followed immediately by CNN.
Win!
Wait, what? That is just crazy talk. Now we are going to have an entire year of voter fraud investigations.
I will sleep a little better tonight. A little sparkle of light in the sea of darkness.
When does Jones get sworn in? Will it be in time to help make the passage of the tax bill a little bit tougher, or will it not be until that’s all wrapped up?
But this is not the time for gloating! It is time to comfort and console, with gentle and supportive fee-fees, our disappointed Neandertal/Americans. In the words of Rev. Lovejoy to the condemned: “I’m here to comfort you. There, there. There, there.”
But not the time for gloating! Tomorrow, for gloating. Midnight. Couple hours.
I guess your sarcasm was premature.
Sure as shit, tomorrow morning, they’re gonna try and steal it. Lawyers are gathering to feed. Ten thousand votes is just too tempting not to make a run at.
Complication: a lot of probable Jones voters had to vote “provisionally”, which means they arn afoul of “voter fraud” protections. Now, if Jones is officially declared the winner, they won’t care, and the votes won’t be counted. But if the Pubbies make a grab for it…
Well, I hope that the pessimists are wrong, and that we get to surf on this ray of hope for a while longer. Congratulations to Doug Jones, and thanks to the people of Alabama.
McConnell has said that the current Senator will stay in the seat until the end of this session, which McConnell will likely extend until the bills he wants are passed. Doug Jones will not be seated until next year.
Is the margin of victory above the recount threshold?
Recount after recount after recount! Enough, already!
The automatic recount, yes. I suppose Moore may ask for a recount, but not likely unless the provisional voting totals change things significantly.
