Can this Fax Machine Be Fixed?

Another clumsy Lissa move: I knocked the fax machine off of a table onto a hard-wood floor. (It’s a Brother ItelliFAX 635 which I’ve had for about five years.)
I can recieve a fax with no problem, but when sending one, the recepient gets a black page. So, I assume that somewhere, light is getting in.

I’ve looked inside, but I can’t see anything broken. (The case was not cracked.) It’s not complaining that its lid is ajar, even when I do have it open, and I’m guessing there’s where the problem is.

Any advice? I’ve got my fingers crossed that someone will say, “Oh, I know exactly what to do! Follow these steps . . .” but I’m thinking that probably those steps are gonna have to lead me to the store to buy a new fax machine!

Is it able to be saved, or should I give it a proper burial, and go shopping?

It could be the scanner light is dead.

Sounds like the water is low. Have you added water lately?

Things like this cost more to repair than replace.

I`d go with the scanner light like sailor said.
