Ah - that does look a bit better now - still takes up space at the top, but at least it’s not space being consumed by a message about something that is empty.
Huh?
Wanna bet?
Try it now.
Oh, the humanity.
It works properly for me.
Something tells me if we took a vote, you’d be outvoted.
That said, if we’re making subforums now, we should move all the Mafia/Family Feud/Trivia games into a subforum of The Game Room.
Subforums here should be rare, especially as people are already griping about space.
We’ve resisted this in the past and there is no reason to subdivide what already co-exists well in the current setup.
While the Sports & Games talk and the Posting Games coexist logically, I’d argue that separating with a subforum would make a lot of people happy. And encourage more posting in both areas as we’d no longer need to worry about one type of post overrunning the other.
Looks a lot better, thank you TubaDiva.
There seem to be only three threads in “Boo!” at the moment. Two stickies, and one test “I thought this forum was closed” thread. Is there other content in “Boo!”? After seeing the plea about it being someone’s reason for living, I decided to check it out, but I was sorely disappointed. If the content has disappeared again maybe there is still something wrong?
Enjoy,
Steven
It’s locked – and there’s basically nothing in it.
But yeah, you are right as always.
Change the Display Options at the bottom left of the page to “beginning”. It defaults to two days.
I agree, subforums should be rare. Let’s begin by getting rid of this unnecessary subforum. Dump the threads into MPSIMS and make BOO! go away.
It’s a subforum that is locked, and you have to go through convolutions to have the threads show up. What is the point?
It was a dumb idea in the first place. For a board that has it’s own quirky breakdown style and has resisted suggestions in the past to realign the forums under some “more common” scheme, sticking a single-topic subforum in doesn’t make sense. Given how much resistance there was to separating Elections from GD, how does it make any sense to create a single topic subforum?
ETA: The one argument I see for keeping it a subforum is that images were allowed in those threads and so dumping to MPSIMS would lose that.
Is this the internet/forum equivalent of hoarding? Just remove the thing. I am sure people had fun with it, but its dissapearance won’t rip the fabric of space time. (says the guy who is going through what could possibly be a quarter mile of christmas lights).
I think Boo was a kind of pointless forum, and wouldn’t be at all sad to see it merged into another forum. But when I go into Boo, I see a lot of threads. I don’t know what other people are seeing that they only see 3 threads. I see lots. Maybe it’s how your defaults are set?
See post #33.
I didn’t ever change my default for Boo. I know that for a fact, because while it was active I only ever even clicked into there one time. And yet it shows all the threads right now when I go in there.
We shouldn’t have to change default (or anything) to avoid seeing a useless forum at the top of a page.
It’s funny because this reads like a well-reasoned argument for why you should get rid of the Boo! forum.
