According to this site , the date for Ken Jennings to lose on Jeopardy is:

Tuesday November 30.

The Final Jeopardy Answer on his loss is:

Most of this firm’s 70,000 seasonal white-collar employees work only 4 months a year..

The correct question, which Ken missed, is Who is H&R Block?

That never occured to me, so I would have missed it too. Would you have gotten it right?
[Fixed to prevent spoilers showing up in preview. -JMCJ]

Woot! I got it right.

Yep, got it. Not sure if I was within the Jeopardy time limit, but close.

buffs nails ho hum, I got it too.

I’m the only one besides Ken to blow it? Now I feel like an idiot!

I didn’t get it.

Did you know that if you don’t put a bunch of returns before your spoiler box the spoiler shows up unboxed in the mouseover preview?

To make it clear- Otto posted his statment before I fixed the OP to prevent that.

Thanks to John Corrado for fixing it- it looked fine on my screen. John or Otto, what the dickens is a mouseover preview?

Yep - I got it. Pretty quickly…

If you hover over the link in the forum’s listing, it will pop-up a brief snippet of the OP. Unfortunately, spoilers aren’t spoilered in the preview box, and are plain to see.

Entering a bunch of line breaks like **John Corrado ** did moves the spoilered content out of the range of the preview box (it only shows the first few lines of the post.)

I see! Thanks for clarifying. And sorry that I messed up. Now I know better.

I got it!

Got it right away, but I wasn’t on TV and worn out by months of playing the damn game.

I guessed

EF Hutton, but I was thinking about H&R Block.

I bet he might have guessed
another tax preparer, or maybe a Christmas-heavy company like, say, “Toys R Us” (although the “white collar” should lead you away from that).

He’s from Utah. Maybe he was thinking of some summer and/or winter-centric travel company, an airline or travel agency or something.
Woohoo! I got it as well. Boy, that KenJen sure is dumb!

I was on the right track, but didn’t think about the word “firm”.

So I went with the IRS.

Nope.

I was really really close.

I guessed the IRS

I got it in two seconds. What a maroon.

Wow, I got that one right away thanks to “white collar”. Which is funny, because I often miss the Final Jeopardy questions. Weird.
